June 2020:
Spanning the northern SHW1 motorway of Auckland's north shore, the large bridge spans were dismantled by cut and craning over progressivle nights, with lane closures and traffic diversions to keep site staff safe during works.
The first phase of the works was to core drill holes into the dycore spans to allow the lifting chains to pass through. Our concrete cutting and crane teams worked in nightshift crews, cutting the bridge deck beams into 25 -30t sections for craning and lifting onto waiting transporters for transport to our reprocessing and recycling facility, with dayshift teams doing piles and abutments.
